Steps to ensure 1Blocker is active
Updated over 2 weeks ago

If you encounter an issue with how 1Blocker works in Safari, please follow this guide to check all the settings that can affect our app's performance.

What can go wrong:

  • Ads suddenly started loading on a particular site.

  • Content blocking stopped working all across the web in Safari.

  • The app fails to block intrusive content after a system update.

What settings to check:

Basically, we need to ensure that Safari lets 1Blocker apply its filters. The steps are slightly different depending on the platform, so these short instructions for iOS and macOS should help.

On your iPhone or iPad

Enable Safari extensions

  1. Navigate to iOS Settings > [Apps] > Safari > Extensions.

  2. Turn on all 1Blocker extensions from the list.

Check content-blocking permissions

  1. Navigate to iOS Settings > [Apps] > Safari > [Settings for websites] > Content Blockers.

  2. Make sure that content blockers are allowed on all sites.

Activate filters

  1. Launch 1Blocker.

  2. Enable all the filters on the main screen.

  3. Open every filter and turn on the subcategories under the Safari section.

Review the Allow List

  1. In 1Blocker, go to Custom Rules > Allow List.

  2. Check that the sites you are experiencing issues with are not listed there.

  2. Navigate to Safari > Settings > Extensions.

Activate filters

  2. Check that the sites you are experiencing issues with are not listed there.

1Blocker Scripts

Additionally, it's worth making sure that the 1Blocker Scripts extension and its permission settings are set correctly, especially if you are encountering YouTube video ads.
