1Blocker provides a flexible way of deactivating its filters for a particular site by creating custom exceptions:
You can add any site to the Allow List category, making 1Blocker ignore it completely.
Also, you can turn off specific subcategories on a given site, partially allowing it.
Possible reasons to allow a website:
You'd like to support the creators of the site.
Let's say you want to support your favorite website by allowing ads but don't want to be tracked. No problem; you can turn off only the Block Ads category while keeping the Block Trackers filter enabled on that website.
You are interested in a specific type of content 1Blocker hides.
For example, if you want to see the comments section of a site while staying protected from ads and trackers, you can allow that filter via the Allow List.
There are some issues possibly caused by 1Blocker.
How to add a site to the Allow List filter
There are two ways of doing that: using 1Blocker's extension in Safari or creating a custom rule in the app.
Allowing sites via the 1Blocker Safari extension
On iOS:
Open the site you want to configure in Safari.
Open the 1Blocker extension from the Safari share menu.
Tap Allow Site.
Tap Disable All Filters or choose what filters to deactivate.
Tap Save.
On macOS:
Open the site you want to configure in Safari.
Open our Safari toolbar icon -
Tap Allow Site.
Enable Turn off Blocking for This Site.
Choose whether to deactivate all blocking rules or only some of them.
Press Save.
Tap the 1Blocker toolbar icon to reload the page and apply these changes.
Allowing sites via the 1Blocker app
On iOS:
Launch the 1Blocker app.
Go to Custom Rules > Allow List.
Tap the (...) menu in the upper-right corner and choose New Rule.
Name your exception rule (optional) and add the domain to allow.
Choose whether to include subdomains and what filters to deactivate.
Tap Save.
On macOS:
Launch the 1Blocker app.
Go to Custom Rules > Allow List.
Press the New Rule button in the (...) menu at the top.
Name your exception rule (optional) and add the domain to allow.
Choose whether to include subdomains and what filters to deactivate.
Tap Save.
On a side note, the Allow List category was formerly known as the Whitelist category.
