One of the most remarkable tools available in 1Blocker is the possibility of creating groups of custom rules, where each set may include actions of different categories. In other words, you can combine a rule that hides elements, a rule that blocks trackers, and any other rules at your choice in a single group.
You can build and modify groups in the “Advanced Customization” section (available on Premium, learn more: Going Premium). “Advanced Customization” is located right below the categories from the Custom tab. To create a group, just tap the + button and start topping it up with your own rules.
You will find this feature useful if you want to combine and manage several rules that have something in common. For example, if they are all applied to the same website or have the same purpose. Also, certain fields allow users to specify more precise and advanced filters.
Currently, the following types of actions are available:
Block URL - provides regular expression support, adjustable URL parameters, and resource type options, such as styles, scripts, images, etc.
Hide Element - adds a more flexible way of fine-tuning the domains a rule will be applied to
Block Cookies - offers extended domain settings.
In addition, we’d like to give you a couple of examples of handy custom groups. Each of them serves its specific purpose: saves bandwidth, blocks access to time-consuming websites, or allows you to block entire types of internet data.
We have attached the groups to this article so that you can import them to 1Blocker. They are 1Blocker-compatible files that you can download and open on any device with our app installed, they will be imported automatically. As 1Blocker enables imported rules by default, please, make sure to turn them off until you need them.
